Book marketing

Marketing built on discoverability, not promises.

Metadata, positioning, launch planning and market-entry support for authors publishing into new territories — measured against figures you can verify yourself.

Overview

We can improve how findable a book is. Nobody can guarantee sales.

Most marketing spend for books is wasted on activity that cannot be measured. We start instead with the work that reliably changes outcomes: accurate categories, honest positioning, well-written descriptive copy, correct comparative titles and clean metadata in every channel.

From there we plan a launch that fits the book and the market — review outreach, translated press materials, retailer promotions and, where it makes sense, paid discovery with a stated budget and a reported result.

We report on what happened, including what did not work. You will not receive a report that only contains good news.

Method

How the work runs.

Each stage ends with something you can read, hear or check before the next stage starts.

    Stage one

    Market read

We look at the comparable titles, categories and price points in each market you are entering, and write down what is realistic.

    Stage two

    Positioning

Agreement on how the book is described, to whom, and against which comparative titles.

    Stage three

    Metadata build

Channel-specific metadata prepared and submitted, then verified live on each retailer.

    Stage four

    Launch plan

A dated plan with owners, budgets and the measurement for each activity.

    Stage five

    Execution

Outreach, submissions and promotions run to the plan, with a shared record of every contact made.

    Stage six

    Review

A post-launch report on what moved, what did not, and what we would change for the next market.

Questions

Frequently asked.

Can you guarantee bestseller status?

No. Any agency promising a chart position is either buying it artificially or misleading you. We commit to discoverability work and honest reporting.

Do you buy reviews?

Never. We send review copies to reviewers who may or may not respond, and we tell you which did.

Is advertising included?

Only if you choose it, with a budget you set. Spend and result are reported separately from our fee.

Can you market a book you did not publish?

Yes. We often start with a metadata and positioning review of an existing edition.

It is the cheapest marketing work with the most reliable effect. Send us the retailer links and we will tell you what is holding the book back.
